I genuinely think the harder you make it for people to live comfortably, the more ruthless they end up becoming. If money/a job is difficult to get, you become all the more obsessed with getting it. And then it's just a vicious cycle.

I work with children and they make me firmly believe we are all born good. It's the world that corrupts us, I think. Of course there's always the exceptions that prove the rule, but even then I think many (if not all) cases can be attributed to some form of mental sickness.

In Rutger Bregman book humankind he talks about how the hobbesian view of humanity is a self fulfilling prophecy. The more we see people behaving badly the more negative we get. Human are social animals when we see a certain behaviour everywhere we will imitate it to avoid isolation. Social media normalises bad behaviour and allows it to thrive.

That's the underlying truth!

men are so fragile that they'll invent a 'belief" everytime women and LGBTQ+ members (and even other men) succeed at a social setting. All because men can't accept that other humans have abilities that are capable of extraordinary things. I think humans are good, but are taught to be evil. And many choose to abide by it.

I'm aware that I repeat a lot of what you said, but I just enjoyed you piece so much and wanted to comment :)
